“AppleJu, I think I know what your eyeballs feel like... I don’t like that very much....” The narrator recounts a childhood memory while talking with a young red and white cow named AppleJu. They are brought back to elementary school Halloween gimmicks and sensory objects of food labeled as body parts. “Cow eyes' ' was what they wrote to trick little kids although it was only a bowl of cold peeled grapes. The narrator had become attached to AppleJu’s presence and did not want to imagine feeling her eyes in any way.
