Cave Cows

12” x 17.5”

Vellum, Colored Pencil, Watercolor on paper

2022

In my work I depict the animal interacting within a location, that its space, ancestry, children, and freedom have not been taken away from by human beings. I want my work to be what cows want us to visualize them in, ones with love and family and freedom and beauty around them not made by the demanding hands of humanity. This piece shows cattle in an unnatural space than their current fenced homes. Through visualizing a natural space where cattle aren't seen today the viewer questions how much we have corralled cattle into our world.
